Public Invited to FREE Partners Health Summit on October 14, 2016
Learn How to Deal with Struggles of Opioid Addiction
Hickory, NC, September 8, 2016 – Partners Health Management is sponsoring a free educational conference about how to deal with the struggles of opioid addiction and other substance use disorders. This special event, called “Partners Health Summit: Struggles of Opioid Addiction,” will take place on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Hickory Metro Convention Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
This summit is designed for those who live with or care for people struggling with addiction – especially family members impacted by opioid addiction or other substance use disorders. Sessions will also be available to those who work with people living with addiction, such as local law enforcement, elected officials, high school counselors and principals, and faith-based groups. Residents of the following counties are encouraged to attend: Burke, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Surry and Yadkin counties.
During the summit, attendees will have the opportunity to attend training sessions about:
- Challenges of overcoming opioid addiction
- How to help people avoid addiction
- How to support loved ones in recovery
- How to support caregivers of individuals with substance use disorders
- Options for treating addiction
- Where to get local help with addiction and mental illness
The conference will culminate with a Recovery Rally, a celebration of the hard work and dedication needed for people to recover from opioid addiction and other substance use disorders. The rally will include inspirational speakers, personal recovery stories, music, and refreshments for all attendees.
