Partners awarded Healthy Gaston
Gold Level Award

GASTONIA—Employee wellness has always been a cornerstone of Partners Health Management’s workplace culture. Now, the organization has been rewarded for its efforts to ensure that employees are not only improving community health, but focused on their own health as well.

Partners Health Management has achieved the “Gold Level” of Gaston Together and Gaston Community Healthcare Commission’s Healthy Gaston Initiative, which recognizes businesses, churches, and schools who create “a culture of wellness.”

The Healthy Gaston Initiative was launched in 2014 to engage business, schools, and churches to focus on wellness and in turn, impact individual health. The initiative consists of three levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—that offer a framework for companies to follow when developing a workplace wellness program.  Partners received “Silver Level” recognition in 2015.

Partners has continued to enhance its wellness program by continuing to develop and promote new initiatives, such as:

  • Walk ‘n Talks, which are opportunities for employees and supervisors to conduct “walking meetings” instead of meeting in a conference room
  • Monthly and quarterly step challenges across departments and office locations
  • Organizational participation in community wellness events, such as marathons and the regional Warrior Dash

Partners received the Healthy Gaston Gold Award at a ceremony on November 2, 2017.
