Partners Health Management Shares Warming Station Resources Across 15-County Coverage Area Ahead of Cold Weather
As colder weather moves into our region this week, Partners Health Management is helping individuals and families across its 15-county region find reliable local warming station resources for those who need a safe, warm place to stay.
Partners covers 15 counties across central and western North Carolina, providing behavioral health and community support resources throughout the area. To support individuals and families during periods of cold weather, the organization’s website now includes an updated list of warming stations and community shelters, including location and hours of operation for each location listed. Locations are listed by county. Click here to view the list.
These resources are designed to help individuals stay safe when temperatures drop, particularly for those who are unhoused, have limited access to heating at home, or are otherwise vulnerable.
According to local forecasts, our region will experience cool to chilly conditions in the coming days, with temperatures near freezing overnight and daytime highs remaining cool for mid-January. Mornings may begin in the 20s and 30s, with daytime highs in the 50s and lower 60s under mostly clear skies. While precipitation is not expected to be significant, bitterly cold overnight temperatures can increase the risk of hypothermia for those spending extended time outdoors.
Plan ahead and take steps to stay warm, including checking our warming station listings if you or someone you know needs immediate assistance.
Available Resources on the Partners website:
- A list of warming stations and shelters across all 15 counties in our coverage area
- County-by-county warming station hours and locations
- Other various details
“We want everyone in our communities to know that help is available,” said Partners Deputy CEO Rachel Porter. “Colder conditions can be dangerous, especially for people without reliable heat. Our warming station information can connect people to warm, safe spaces — and our website brings these resources together in one place.”
Partners encourages residents to check the website regularly as weather patterns change, to stay informed, and to share these resources with anyone who may benefit. Partners will continually update resources as they become available and are communicated to Partners.
