Your Partners Vision Care

Partners is working with Envolve Vision, doing business as Centene Vision Services, to manage your vision benefit. Centene Vision and Partners are available to help you access both routine vision services and eye care that requires the services of an eye care specialist. Partners Member and Recipient Services is available to provide you with benefit and provider information by calling 1-888-235-4673. The following is more information about your vision benefit:

  • Services provided by ophthalmologists and optometrists, including routine eye exams, medically necessary contact lenses, and fees for ordering eyeglasses. Opticians may also fit and provide medically necessary contact lenses and eyeglasses.
  • Specialist referrals for eye diseases or defects, if necessary.
  • NC Medicaid Direct is responsible for making your eyeglasses through Nash Optical Plant, including complete eyeglasses, eyeglass lenses and ophthalmic frames. Your Centene Vision provider will provide your prescription and help you with ordering your eyeglasses. Call Member and Recipient Services at 1-888-235-4673 to help you find an in-network Centene Vision provider.

To search for vision providers go to the link below and choose the following options:

  • Select “location”
  • Then select “North Carolina” for the state
  • “North Carolina Medicaid Tailored Plan” for the healthplan
  • “North Carolina Medicaid Tailored Plan” for network
  • Select “Detailed Search” and choose “Optometry” from the dropdown menu
  • Then hit search

Vision Benefits

Members under 21 are eligible for:

  • a routine eye exam with refraction or a refraction only once every year (365 days)
  • medically necessary contact lenses
  • fitting and supplying of visual aids
  • one pair of eyeglasses once every year (365 days)

Members 21 and older are eligible for:

  • a routine eye exam with refraction or refraction-only once every two years (730 days)
  • medically necessary contact lenses
  • fitting and supplying of visual aids
  • one pair of eyeglasses once every two years (730 days)
